Vaccination

The only mandatory vaccination required to visit Uganda for all adults and children aged nine years or more, is Yellow Fever vaccination. However, vaccination may be consisdered for the following diseases: diphtheria, polio, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, tetanus, typhoid, cholera, TB, mengitis, and for rabbies if one expects to get in contact with wild or domestic animals.

Malaria: Uganda is a malaria endemic country. To protect yourself from mosquito bites and the risk of malaria, it is recommended to at night wear long clothing that covers the entire body, apply mosquito repellants to the skin, and sleep under a treated mosquito bed net at all times. The CDC recommends that travelers going to Uganda take prescription medicine to prevent malaria, see information at this link https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/uganda/#/packing-list-description
